My theory is that supertasters like cheese because it coats the tongue with (luscious) fat thus blocking some of the receptors and lessening the full bitter effects of certain foods. Hence, the empowering effects of a good Hollandaise sauce on asparagus, for example. (I'm not sure if this is a good example, not having tested this particular example per se.)
This theory is based solely on the two supertasters closest to me who both love cheese but find many other foods to be disagreeable.
Any thoughts?
I know when you say "two supertasters" that one of them is Four, but who is the other?

ReplyDeleteSometime, I'll have to try eating something I don't like after eating cheese and test your theory... It's fun, I don't often think of the science behind eating. (unless it's eat more protein to avoid a headache)
